19/6      Cat on a Hot Tin Roof – directed by Richards Brooks, 1958, 1hr 40 min.
Adaptation of Tennesee Williams’ play by the same name (1955).
Starring:  Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Newman, Burl Ives.
Brick, an alcoholic ex-football player, drinks his days away and resists the affections of his wife, Maggie. His reunion with his father, Big Daddy, who is dying of cancer, jogs a host of memories and revelations for both father and son.

Adattamento dell’omonino opera teatrale di Tennesee Williams (1955).
Interpreti:  Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Newman, Burl Ives.
Brick, un alcolista ed ex giocatore di football americano, beve tutto il giorno e resiste alle attenzioni di sua moglie, Maggie. L’incontro con suo padre, Big Daddy, che sta morendo a causa di un cancro, rinfresca la memoria a entrambi e porta una serie di rivelazioni sia per il padre che per il figlio.

 A young New York socialite becomes interested in a young man who has moved into her apartment building, but her past threatens to get in the way.

Un criminale si dichiara pazzo dopo essere finito nuovamente nei guai e, una volta finito in un manicomio, si ribella all’infermiera che lo opprime e incita gli altri pazienti impauriti a fare lo stesso.

Uno scrittore viene salvato da una fan dei suoi romanzi dopo un incidente d’auto, ma presto si rende conto che tutte le cure che riceve sono solo l’inizio di un’incubo di prigionia e violenza.

Adaptation of Jon Krakauer’s non-fiction book (1996).

After graduating from Emory University, top student and athlete Christopher McCandless abandons his possessions, gives his entire $24,000 savings account to charity and hitchhikes to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Along the way, Christopher encounters a series of characters that shape his life.

Dopo essersi laureato alla Emory University, lo studente e atleta modello Christopher McCandless abbandona i suoi averi, dona in beneficenza tutti i $24.000 che è riuscito a risparmiare e arriva in Alaska in autostop per vivere nella natura. Durante il tragitto, Christopher incontra una serie di personaggi che plasmano la sua vita.
