AIA FVG ENGLISH COURSES

SUMMER STEAM Full Immersion English Mornings for Pre-K, Elementary, Middle and High School.  We start the week of June 19th.  Registration is Open and Space is limited.  Here is the link to the Summer STEAM Schedule.   4 Weeks – 2 at the beginning of the Summer and 2 before school starts.  You can take just 1 week or as many weeks as you like.  Great for Native Speakers too!

NEWS
Are you a writer? Anyone can submit a Fiction or Non-fiction work in English (max 1000 words).  We’re launching a magazine in English.  Deadline for Submissions:  May 8, 2017. Issue 0 in June 2017. 

LA DONNA DELLA MIA VITA – le Vie delle FotoApril 2017
Thanks to all who participated and visited our exhibit!  The Abbington Friends School in Pennsylvania held the exhibit simultaneously. 

3D MakerBot PRINTER and SCANNER – Our Maker Space is now complete.  We have made a few 3D creations.  Come down and try it out.  If you need a 3D Printer for a project, we can arrange for you to use it on Tuesday or Thursday mornings and Friday afternoons. Send us an email!

Starting on May 9th, Futurosa, in collaboration with the Associazione Italo Americana FVG, is offering a special mini-basketball course in English for boys and girls born in 2008/09/10.  Special Price for AIA FVG Members. There will also be a 1 week Summer Basketball Camp.

VOLUNTEERS
We are a Volunteer Run Non-Profit Association.
Volunteers run our Library, American Corner Programs and Activities.  We are looking for Volunteers to Mentor and Manage the Teen Club, Assist with the Nati per Leggere program, Work at the Cinema, Help with our Morning Activities.  Send us an email.  We’ll find a role for you.  University of Trieste students in Humanities or P.R. can earn Internship Credit Hours with us (CFU).   We accept students with a minimum of 75 hours (3 CFU).  You'll have a great experience and improve your English, while you learn valuable people skills. Contact us!  aia.fvg@gmail.com 
 AMERICAN CORNER TRIESTE – Programs, consultation of the library, public internet access computers, and Wi-Fi are always free and open to the public.  A great place to study, meet friends, bring your kids.  The US Department of State has granted us a Gold Standard rating in terms of programs, facilities, services! In addition to our regular library, we also feature an Education Advising Section, Children’s Corner Library and Women’s Space.  Consult our on line catalog of Books and DVDs.

The American Corner also offers English and Life Skills Courses for Refugees thanks to a U.S. Government Grant.

Maker Space is open every Thursday morning from 10-12.

Il Futurosa Basket Trieste nasce nel 2009 con l’ambizione di incrementare e sviluppare il movimento cestistico femminile in una citta “di basket” come è Trieste.

Sin da subito si è mossa promuovendo l’attività dedicata alle scuole offrendo la possibilità alle bambine e ai bambini di svolgere e migliorare le prestazioni motorie, secondo itinerari graduali e processi di avviamento al gioco sportivo di squadra, introducendo pian piano la pallacanestro.

Ad oggi, oltre ad un’importante crescita nel settore minibasket, attività dedicata alle età di 6 -11 anni partecipa ai campionati Esordienti, Under 13, Under 16 e Under 18 femminili.

SUMMER STEAM 2017 Full Immersion Mornings for
Pre-School, Elementary, Middle School, High School

STEAM Weeks at Associazione Italo Americana FVG:  Exciting and hands-on learning opportunity for young people, applying integrated skills and with a special emphasis on the STEAM curriculum areas (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) in English.  You will learn by doing, and having fun…in English.  The groups are divided by class level:  Pre-School, Elementary, Middle and High School, with 4 theme weeks. For both Native and Non -Native Speakers.
In order to take a class with us, 1 parent must become a member.  Students age 16 and over can become members on their own. See membership information. For June, July and August Classes, membership for new students is included in the price of the course.

MISS-MASS - Call for Submissions

The Associazione Italo Americana FVG / American Corner Trieste announces the launch of MISS-MASS, an in-house literary magazine in English.

MISS-MASS will be a FREE literary magazine in English curated by and with the writing contributions of Adult and Teenage English language students at the Associazione Italo Americana del FVG as well as submissions from the general public.
Content:  Fiction and Non-fiction work in English (Opinion Pieces, Essays, Short Stories, Poetry etc.) highlighting the lives and experiences of Trieste's residents. 
Who can submit a text:  Open to the Public.  All texts in English.  All levels of English are welcome! Any accepted works will be reviewed and edited by our student staff.
Deadline for submissions: May 8, 2017
Text Length:  Maximum 1000 words
Publication Date of Issue 0: June 2017
The authors allow the Associazione Italo Americana FVG to publish their work with no monetary retribution.  The work in any case remains the property of the single authors.
