At least 12 million people have fled their homes since Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
More than 5 million left for neighboring countries, and 7 million people are thought to be displaced inside Ukraine. Over 140,000 Ukrainians found safety in Italy. (UN July 4, 2022)
American Corner Trieste opened its Maker Space to Ukrainian Makers for crafting and fellowship.

- Support activities - The talented Ukrainian Crafters produced items for Barbacan Produce in June 2022and the Maker Faire Trieste 2022 in Piazza Unità on September 2022.
