Each year, the United States celebrates its national Independence Day on July 4. The holiday commemorates the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Americans traditionally honor the day with parades, picnics, barbecues, and fireworks displays.

In 1870, Congress passed a law establishing July 4th as a federal holiday to celebrate the ‘birth of an independent nation.’ At first, not all Americans celebrated the Fourth of July across the United States. Due to differences, mainly political opinions, some Americans did not celebrate the holiday until many years later. Today, July 4th is one of the most popular holidays in the United States and to celebrate groups of friends, neighbors, and family members, gather together in backyards, at the beach, at parks, and other open areas.

Survey Results: Favorite Film:  Poor Things Least Favorite Film:  Bros    TOPSIDE BRASS BAND What an AMAZING evening with the Topside Brass Band - U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa!  Jazz, Pop, Rhythm, and Blues!  We had a super Independence Day with the band and 1000 spectators on June 29th in Trieste at this Free event, first on the calendar of TriesteLovesJazz. A big thank you to the U.S. Embassy to Italy - Ambasciata Americana a Roma / Consolato USA a Milano and the Comune di Trieste for making this event possible. Photos and Video - Topside Brass Band YounG7 Education Karoline Steckley, President of the Associazione Italo Americana FVG, led the U.S. delegation at the YounG7 for Education in Lignano Sabbiadoro!  The 2 U.S. Citizen teen representatives, made us proud!  Sports Visitor Program in L.A. 50 teenage girls from around the world just returned from the Julie Foudy International Leadership Academy for soccer training. The  curriculum emphasized sports, mental health, leadership, and resilience and the Italian delegation included 2 representatives from Trieste: the Coach/Mentor and 1 Student!   U.S. Secretary of Education Visit! During the G7 for Education in Trieste, Miguel Cardona, U.S. Secretary of Education, visited us and met  our teenage participants in Summer English Academy! What an honor!
