RUBERTO, Professor of Humanities, Berkeley City College (Berkeley, CA) Teaches film studies courses and interdisciplinary liberal arts courses that focus on cultural studies, material culture, aesthetics, and media.

24 hour GLOW Weekend - Thanks to all our MENTORS and GIRLS!  So interesting. So much fun. So little sleep.  Everybody did a great job.  Enjoy the summer and see you in the Fall. Girls Leading Our World!

TESOL Seminar Teaching the 21st Century Student hosted by the TESOL TRIESTE LOCAL GROUP  - 4 talented teacher / speakers.  What can we say?  Inspiring.  Join the group and receive MIUR Credit, enrich your C.V. and get professional development! Teachers are taking a much needed break and will be back in the Fall with more events.  Make a topic suggestion. Be a speaker.

IOWA State University – a group of 17 students and 2 professors is spending 3 weeks in town for “Trieste and the Meaning of Place”.  They leave on June 5th.  You might see them in our space.  Say Ciao and start a conversation!

Where are our Interns from? We currently have interns from the University of Alaska and the University of Trieste. This summer some high school students from Liceo Petrarca will join us.

CALLING ALL FULBRIGHT and US DEPARTMENT of STATE EXCHANGE PARTICIPANTS
Did you study abroad with a FULBRIGHT SCHOLARSHIP or through a US Department of State Exchange Program? Send us an email if you or someone you know participated in one of these programs!  We are organizing an Alumni Group in Trieste. aia.fvg@gmail.com

VOLUNTEERS
We are a Volunteer Run Non-Profit Association.
Volunteers run our Library, American Corner Programs and Activities.  We are looking for Volunteers to Mentor and Manage the Teen Maker Club, Assist with the Nati per Leggere program, Work at the Cinema, Help with our Morning Activities at the Front Desk and in the Library. Send us an email.  We’ll find a role for you.  University of Trieste students in Humanities, P.R. and other majors can earn Internship Credit Hours with us (CFU).   We accept students with a minimum of 75 hours (3 CFU).  You'll have a great experience and improve your English, while you also learn valuable life and people skills. High School Students can also do Alternanza Scuola Lavoro.  Contact us!  aia.fvg@gmail.com 

AMERICAN CORNER TRIESTE – Since 2007, we have been part of the American Spaces Network.  Programs, consultation of the library, public internet access computers, and Wi-Fi are always free and open to the public.  A great place to study, meet friends, bring your kids.  Specific sections of the library are dedicated to Educational Advising, Children’s Corner Library and Women’s Space.  Consult our on line catalog of Books and DVDs.   The American Corner also offers Life Skills in English Courses for Refugees thanks to a U.S. Department of State Grant and the US Diplomatic Mission to Italy.

Dobbiamo garantire che tutti i dati elaborati, gestiti e archiviati siano trattati in conformita` delle disposizioni del GDPR, indipendentemente dal fatto che il trattamento sia eseguito da un collaboratore, da un socio, da un fornitore e/o da una parte terza.

La nostra associazione si sta strutturando ed organizzando per adeguarsi al Regolamento Europeo per la scadenza del 25 maggio 2018.

RE: GDPR – EU Law on Privacy 2016/679

On May 25 2018, the new GDPR – European Rule n. 679/2016 for privacy goes into effect.  We must guarantee that all the data elaborated, managed and stored is treated in compliance with the GDPR guidelines, independently from whether the data is that of a collaborator, member, supplier or a third party.

Our association is working on compliance within the deadline of May 25, 2018.

Frederick Henry, an American serving as a volunteer ambulance driver with the Italian forces in the First World War, is wounded and falls in love with his attending nurse, the British Catherine Barkley. In the midst of war and some intrigue, the pair struggles to stay together and to survive the horrors around them.

The Joad clan, introduced to the world in John Steinbeck's iconic novel, is looking for a better life in California. After their drought-ridden farm is seized by the bank, the family -- led by just-paroled son Tom -- loads up a truck and heads West. On the road, beset by hardships, the Joads meet dozens of other families making the same trek and holding onto the same dream. Once in California, however, the Joads soon realize that the promised land isn't quite what they hoped.

An abridged award-winning television adaptation of a famous play about an aging travelling salesman who's on the verge of a nervous breakdown. His job is gone, and his family hates him for never being there. He tries mending things with them.

Starring  Sam Riley, Garrett Hedlund, Kristen Stewart . Screenplay by Jose Rivera.
Shaken by the death of his father and discouraged by his stalled career, writer Sal Paradise goes on a road trip hoping for inspiration. While traveling, he is befriended by charismatic and fearless Dean Moriarty and Moriarty's free-spirited and seductive young wife, Marylou. Traveling across the American southwest together, they strive to break from conformity and search the unknown, and their decisions change the very course of their lives.
