We are a Cultural Association with indoor activities. Green passes are no longer required!  In any case you still need a Face Mask while in the Association and at the theater.

The American Corner Library is open!  Monday - Saturday 9-12 and Monday-Friday 17-19.  Please RETURN any items that you still have. Thanks to our Interns on their work on the Library Inventory. Look at the American Corner Library Catalog.

May Theme: World Press Freedom 
 Recognize the integral role a free press plays in building prosperous, resilient and free societies.  Visit the World Press Freedom Exhibit at the American Corner and learn how to recognize Fake News. Read an investigative article or watch a film about journalism.  

U.S.S. Harry S. Truman was in the Gulf of Trieste in April. No public visits were organized, but we were proud and honored to represent AIAFVG and the American Corner during a special visit for the U.S. Mission to Italy and local authorities. View photos HERE.
 
🎸UKULELE CLUB - Registration of new participants Required
May Meetings on May 7th and May 21st.  Open to all ages and all levels.  Free.  Join us.  Bring your Ukulele or borrow one for the meeting. Don't play yet? Sing along usually in English. Watch our International Collaborative Debut. Check out our YouTube Playlist.  Thanks to volunteer "Maestri" Marino and Karoline in Trieste, Bob and Jen in Austin-Texas as well as Filmmaker Susanne. 

REFUGEE RELIEF
We have been assisting displaced persons of all nationalities in the area, thanks to the support of the US Embassy to Italy.
English - some Ukrainian students are in our English classes. 
Support activities - Craft workshop every Tuesday and Thursday morning and afternoon for Ukrainian women. Coming soon to Barbacan Produce.
Collection - Cell phones, laptops, tablets (used but in working order) are needed.

Teen Maker Space for Middle School and High School Students is finished for this school year.  Many thanks to Joshua, our super mentor.  Godspeed to him and his family. 


English Conversation Club will be back in the Fall.  Thanks to Melissa, volunteer facilitator!   

We also salute Emma, our Virtual Library Intern,
 from the University of Texas.  She was involved in Book Club, High School Classes, Library Projects.

Vote from Abroad. Americans can vote. Wherever they are.  Submit your 2022 Federal Post Card Application so you will receive absentee ballots for the entire year.  
 
US Passport Renewal.  Be travel ready! Check your expiration date to avoid surprises.  
 
Federal Benefits Unit. Contact the office in Rome via email for assistance related to Social Security, Benefits, Medicare.
