Associazione Italo Americana FVG / American Corner Trieste

We are a Cultural Association with indoor activities. Green passes are no longer required!  In any case you still need a Face Mask while in the Association and at the theater.   

We will be  CLOSED on June 2nd.

The American Corner Library is open!  Monday - Saturday 9-12 and Monday-Friday 17-19.  Please RETURN any items that you still have. Thanks to our Interns on their work on the Library Inventory. Look at the American Corner Library Catalog.

May Theme: World Press Freedom  Recognize the integral role a free press plays in building prosperous, resilient and free societies.  Visit the World Press Freedom Exhibit at the American Corner and learn how to recognize Fake News. Read an investigative article or watch a film about journalism.  

U.S.S. Harry S. Truman was in the Gulf of Trieste in April. No public visits were organized, but we were proud and honored to represent AIAFVG and the American Corner during a special visit for the U.S. Mission to Italy and local authorities. View photos HERE.
 
🎸UKULELE CLUB - Registration of new participants Required
May Meetings on May 7th and May 21st.  Open to all ages and all levels.  Free.  Join us.  Bring your Ukulele or borrow one for the meeting. Don't play yet? Sing along usually in English. REFUGEE RELIEF
We have been assisting displaced persons of all nationalities in the area, thanks to the support of the US Embassy to Italy.
English - some Ukrainian students are in our English classes. 
Support activities - Craft workshop every Tuesday and Thursday morning and afternoon for Ukrainian women. Coming soon to Barbacan Produce.
Collection - Cell phones, laptops, tablets (used but in working order) are needed.

Teen Maker Space for Middle School and High School Students is finished for this school year.  Many thanks to Joshua, our super mentor.  Godspeed to him and his family. 

English Conversation Club will be back in the Fall.  Thanks to Melissa, volunteer facilitator!   

We also salute Emma, our Virtual Library Intern, from the University of Texas.  She was involved in Book Club, High School Classes, Library Projects.

US Passport Renewal.  Be travel ready! Check your expiration date to avoid surprises.

CALL FOR CELL PHONES, LAPTOPS, TABLETS (in working order) for REFUGEES

We have been asked to help collect the above items for refugees.  

  • Many women lost or broke their phones on their journeys and have no way to communicate with home.  
  • Children continue to follow their school from a distance, and need computers.


Drop off at the Associazione Italo Americana FVG / American Corner Trieste - piazza Sant'Antonio Nuovo, 6 - Trieste during our office hours:  Monday to Saturday 9-12.  Monday to Friday 4-7.  

Reset your device to factory settings to wipe your data from it  If you do not know how to do that, there is a technician who will.  


#United with Ukraine - Crafting Workshops 

Join us in MAY on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9-12 and 17-19.  

Mandatory first time registration HERE 

Together with the women we are making handmade objects to present at local craft markets.  We work in our Maker Space where we have sewing machines, yarn, needles, crafting materials.  

Sewing, Knitting, Crocheting, Crafting, Jewelry.  

Face Mask Required.

The showing of The Terminal at the American Corner on April 22nd is cancelled.  



Workmen are sandblasting outside the windows of the program room and the noise and the dust make the projection impossible.
