FULL IMMERSION requires students to speak and think in the
language both inside and outside the classroom.
In addition to delving into grammar, phonetics, and methodology,
participants also study American culture, going so far as to cook American
desserts and comfort food. Although the
direct approach and format of AIA FVG classes is different from traditional
English courses, students’ previous language studies are building blocks for
the experience.
Description
These courses are age level and not language level. Themes are age and interest appropriate. All students will participate actively in speaking
and project-based activities. The
objectives are to:

Create a love of
language learning
·
Improve oral
comprehension and speaking skills in a non-scholastic situation
·
Lower barriers that
might block students from speaking
·
Promote reading and
writing
Expectations and Goals
At the end of
the course, the student should have gained confidence in speaking and acquired
broader knowledge of American English culture, language and literature.
Mode
Only English
is spoken in class. We use current
themes including real texts, videos, music in order to create discussion
points. Post lesson you will receive more input if you wish to deepen your
knowledge of the theme.
