FALL is in the AIR.  Welcome to All New Students and Members!  The American Film Series begins this month,  American Citizen Services and Social Security will be in Trieste. We will have the annual Halloween Party for Kids.  Remember to renew your Membership 2016/17, valid until August 31, 2017.    View the Newsletter on the Blog in Text or in  Calendar Format.  Themes of the Month: Halloween and US Voters.

AIA FVG ENGLISH COURSES and MEMBERSHIP

Here are the Course schedules for 2016/17:  KIDS and ADULTS.  If there is availability, you can join a class at any time of the year.  We have added more morning Adult classes.  The next Weekend Warrior Full Immersion Intensive Weekend of the year is Oct. 22-23.  Contact us at aiafrontdesk@gmail.com for info.
REMEMBER to RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP! 2016/17 Membership Year began on September 1st.  Here is the Membership Form.  Membership prices remain unchanged.  €25 – Ridotto for Students 16 and over, Teachers and 65 and over.  €35 – Intero.  Membership is valid until August 31, 2017.  Renew your membership each year to take advantage of the American Film Series, Register for Courses, Use our Library, Participate in Members Only Events. Enroll with a Friend!

The film series begins on October 27th.   9 great American films in Original Version.  2016/17 Members Only.  Become a member during Office Hours.

NEWS for U.S. CITIZENS

AMERICANS. YOUR VOTE COUNTS.  If you are an American citizen, and have not yet registered to vote, please do so immediately.  Go to www.FVAP.gov and fill out the Voter Registration and Absentee Ballot Request Form. Send your form back according to the instructions for your state.  When you receive your ballot, vote and send it back immediately by mail with Italian Postage applied.  

Monday, OCTOBER 3, 2016 the Vice Consul for U.S. Citizen Services was in Trieste to offer: services and accept absentee ballots.  In addition she did a presentation about  U.S. STUDENT SAFETY and SECURITY ABROAD

Thursday, OCTOBER 20, 2016 - an Official from the US Federal Social Security Administration in Rome will be at American Corner Trieste to accept Social Security applications and answer Social Security questions.
  • 9-12 – INDIVIDUAL APPOINTMENTS by email request tofvg@gmail.com
  • 2 pm – PRESENTATION – Social Security Overview and Applying for Social Security Benefits Online. Free and Open to the Public.


VOLUNTEERS
We are a Volunteer Run Non-Profit Association.
Volunteers run our Library, American Corner Programs and Activities.  We are looking for Volunteers to Mentor and Manage the Teen Club, Assist with the Nati per Leggere program, Work at the Cinema, Help with our Morning Activities.  Send us an email.  We’ll find a role for you.  University of Trieste students in Humanities or P.R. can earn Internship Credit Hours with us (CFU).   We accept students with a minimum of 75 hours (3 CFU).  You'll have a great experience and improve your English, while you also learn valuable people skills. Contact us!  aia.fvg@gmail.com 

AMERICAN CORNER TRIESTE – Programs, consultation of the library, public internet access computers, and Wi-Fi are always free and open to the public.  A great place to study, meet friends, bring your kids.  The US Department of State has granted us a Gold Standard rating in terms of programs, facilities, services! In addition to our regular library, we also feature an Education Advising Section, Children’s Corner Library and Women’s Space.  Consult our on line catalog of Books and DVDs
