Halloween is over. What a great party by the way! Here are some photos. Thanks to all of our super volunteers for designing a fantastic haunted room! Joe, Steven, Grace, Sheila, Patrizia, Erin, Nick, Silvia, Karry, Filippo, Gaia, Cristina, Marco, Fenia, Martina, Valentina, Anna, Milena, we could not have done it without you! We thank all our young guests for their (spooky) Halloween spirit. We certainly inaugurated our Kids Zone classroom in style. Now it’s time to look ahead to US Elections, Thanksgiving, and Cookie Fest with St. Nicolas. Christmas will be here in a wink. It’s already snowing.

COURSES
Our FALL COURSES continue. The Pre-School (Scuola Materna) class begins on Wednesday, November 7th from 5 – 6 p.m. for 5 weeks. You can still register your toddler. A fun introduction to English with songs, games, stories. The cost is €50 per student. Remember that 1 parent must be a member of the Association. There is a discount of 5% when you pay for the course by bank transfer. Please put name of student, name of the course and give a phone number when you pay online. IBAN: IT49A0200802290000005261887
MEMBERSHIP DRIVE 2012/13
MEMBERSHIP GOAL FOR 2012-2013: 600As of October 29th : 384 members (only 216 to go!). Cristina, Luisa and all of our U. of Trieste volunteers have been doing a fantastic job of keeping things in order.
Join or renew at any time and take advantage of our programs: American Cinema Series at the Ariston, Made for Each Other at Cappella Underground, Library /Mediateca, Children’s Corner, Invitations to Special Events, Coffee Breaks, Friday American Experience, Saturday Storytime. What a great gift for a friend, spouse, grandchild! Check out our Membership FAQ if you have more questions.
Membership is: €25 for students (age 16 and over), teachers, over age 65, €35 for regular membership. Our new laminated Membership cards will be available 1 week after you have paid and completed your registration. You can pick them up in the office or directly at the cinema.
US Election Night All Nighter… (or at least until 11 p.m.)November 6th from 8 p.m until 11 p.m... Join us for pizza and classic TV and Films about the US Elections. Live updates from C-SPAN and an evening with friends. Anybody for “West Wing” and “Dave”? A €5 contribution per person is requested. Please call to reserve, just so we have enough pizza for everyone!

THANKSGIVING – November 22nd, 8 p.m. at the Ristorante Tre Magnoni – Pre-Paid Reservation Required
Our Thanksgiving team has planned a fabulous Thanksgiving Feast at the Tre Magnoni. This is the one day of the year, that we don’t have to work in the Association. We’re leaving the cooking and cleanup to the experts and enjoying the evening. Space is limited. Pre-Paid reservations are required. Come to the office to pay and reserve. Cost: €40 per adult and reduced price for children. Beverages are included.
November 16th at 6 p.m.: Member, veteran AIA teacher, and our very own Thanksgiving Dinner organizer, Andrea Garwood, will be our guest lecturer for “The Ultimate Thanksgiving: Traditions, Recipes, Organization” Everything you need to organize a successful Thanksgiving Dinner.
COOKIE FEST and ST. NICOLAS VISIT – November 30th 5 – 7 p.m.
Bring your favorite Holiday cookies (and the recipes) to share, while we await the arrival of St. Nicolas/Santa Klaus. This event is open to adults and children. Bring your Christmas wish list and tell Santa in person (he speaks all the languages of the world, by the way). Please call the office if you can bring some of your home baked goods and recipes! We’re looking for volunteers to do cooking demonstrations too!
