As far as the programs we instituted over the last year, we are planning on continuing the
AMERICAN FILM SERIES AT THE ARISTON,
MONDAY NIGHT FILM/TV SERIES which was so much fun, and our
AMERICAN CORNER FRIDAY AFTERNOON DOCUMENTARIES. AMERICAN CORNER SATURDAY MORNING STORYTIME for children and their parents will also return once things cool off a bit!
MONFALCONE: ONE WEEK IMMERSION PROGRAM FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS
Mark your calendars for the first week of September. We will be offering a week-long half-day summer school immersion program for Elementary school students in
MONFALCONE. I will blog details very soon! As always, we offer discounts to brothers and sisters who sign up. A special thank you to Randaccio Middle School who has offered to host us!
ENGLISH CLASSES FOR ENGLISH AND NON-ENGLISH TEACHERS IN MONFALCONE AND TRIESTE
One of our most important missions is to support the English teachers in our region! For this reason, we are offering Advanced English Conversation courses to teachers at a special discounted rate. These courses are a great moment for exchanging ideas and "talking shop" as well as refreshing conversation skills with a native speaker. I taught two of these classes this year in Monfalcone (the other course was for non-English teachers), and we had an excellent time, let me tell you! If you already know you're interested in participating, just let us know!
MAKING OUR CLASSROOMS MORE MOBILE
Another thing we are working on this year is offering more varied classes in other locations both in Trieste and in surrounding areas. If you have any preferences or know of a facility willing to host classes, let us know!
MAKING YOUR TESSERA MORE VALUABLE
Our hope is that by offering more programs and events we will create a positive community of active Italian American Association members who are happy to renew their tessera every year. But... if we can sweeten the deal for you, we are happy to do that as well. We will be letting you know where you can use your tessera to take advantage of special discounts with our sponsors like the Ariston Theater, Uvec Travel and others around town.
