– Countdown to the end of the school year and the beginning of Summer STEAM! Doc
Once school gets out, we’ll reduce our hours, but
still give you a lot of Quality Time!
Summer plans include the Cartoon Film Fest, Summer Reading Competition for all ages, Independence
Day Celebration, Intensive Courses, Weekend Warrior and Summer STEAM for kids
from Pre-K through High School. June is LGBT
Month: celebrate freedom and fairness. Check our blog and Like

The FOOD FILM FESTIVAL and our
month dedicated to EXPO2015 was a great success! Thanks to the Monday night team – Leonardo,
Alice, Domenico, Isa for making this movie series possible. Our cookbooks and food films are always
available for checkout!

LIBRARY HOURS
– From June 15th the Library will be open for
checkouts on: Tuesday and Thursday
mornings 9-12 and Wednesday afternoons 5-7pm.

WEEKEND WARRIOR FULL IMMERSION ENGLISH for ADULTS. – Class
1 was dismissed with a big OOH RA (until next time!). Congratulations on your progress and your
stamina.
10 hours of intensive English over the weekend. OBJ – English Fluency! Too busy during the week? This is for you. Start communicating in English, fast! For

SUMMER STEAM WEEKS for Kids and Teens - Space is limited – Check our link for registration deadlines.
STEAM Weeks: exciting, hands-on learning opportunity for young
people, applying integrated skills and Project Based Learning with emphasis on
the STEAM curriculum areas (Science, Technology, Engineering,
Arts, and Math) in English. You will learn by doing, and
having fun…in English. The groups are divided by class level: Pre-School,
Elementary, Middle and High School, with thematic weeks. For both Native and
Non -Native Speakers. Participate
in as many weeks as you want.
SAT
EXAM PREPARATION –
Contact us if you will be taking the SAT to go to the university in the US. We are setting up a special summer class.
Summer INTENSIVE Week – June 29 – July 3 and Weekend
WARRIOR Full Immersion Courses for ADULTS – What you need, when and how you need it. Two hours a day for 5 days. We also offer Individual Lessons.

I LOVE READING – Summer Reading Contest – From June 15th until September 7th.
Every time you check out a
book, you get a sticker. Fantastic
prizes at summer end by age group: You could win a Kindle, an Illustrated
Dictionary, Stickers. Adults can
participate too! Avoid the Summer
Slide. Research proves
that students can lose up to 3 months of learning progress during the
summer. Read!
Mondays and Wednesdays 12 -1 –
June 22 – July 15. Students age 9-12 for
Native Speakers and students with a high level of English. We’re reading a chapter book with our teacher
Janine. Please contact us ASAP if you

select the book based on the reading levels of the participants. Students should start when we begin the book
and attend regularly.

TC – American Corner Teen Club one final meeting on June 5th
before the Summer Holiday. The Roman Murder Mystery Dinner
was a great success! Thanks to Joe and
all the kids for their hard work. Our teens are looking forward to attending
the Model
United Nations in Rome in October.

AMERICAN CORNER TRIESTE
– Programs, consultation of the library, public internet access computers, and
Wi-Fi are always free and open to the public.
A great place to study, meet friends, bring your kids. The US Department of State has granted us a
Gold Standard rating in terms of programs, facilities, services! In addition to
our regular library, we also feature and Education Advising Section, Children’s
Corner Library and Women’s Space.
VOLUNTEER
OPPORTUNITIES
Remember that we are a volunteer organization. We are looking for people to work in the
afternoons at the Front Desk, manage library checkouts, mentors for teens and a
variety of other roles. Contact us! We’ll keep you busy!
