HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US! The Associazione Italo Americana celebrates its 50th Anniversary this year. We want to make this year last a long time, so we will spread out special events during the course of 2011.
1st EVENT for our 50th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
Wednesday, February 9, 2011, 6-8 p.m., via Roma 15
This fantastic musical event, broadcast from the White House with President Obama as Master of Ceremonies in honor of Black History Month. Featuring songs from the Civil Rights Movement performed by top entertainers such as Yolanda Adams, Joan Baez, Natalie Cole, Bob Dylan, Jennifer Hudson, John Mellencamp, Smokey Robinson, the Blind Boys of Alabama, the Howard University Choir and The Freedom Singers.
During this evening take the opportunity to get a sneak preview of our Children’s Corner that will be inaugurated on February 10th with a group of elementary school students. This is our new area just for kids!

Magazine news – We have moved the magazine section down the hallway. We still have our regular magazine titles, but new magazines are on the way: Bon Appetit, The Atlantic Monthly, Consumer Report, Highlights just to name a few, not to mention your old favorites: Time, Newsweek, Oprah, etc.
