Election Day is over.  The US Embassy to Italy and the US State Department have organized Live Chats with Experts to discuss the elections:

 

• Nov. 4, 4am -US Elections 2020 – Live Chat and Q&A by the the US State Dept.

• Nov. 5, 3pm - Presidenziali USA 2020: dall’elezione all’insediamento Transatlantic Thursday Live Chat Online by the US Embassy to Italy – In Italian.

Thanksgiving 2020

 

We can’t be together this year, but you can still celebrate at home. 

We're sending our warm heartfelt wishes, from our home to yours.

Look at these Menu ideas for Thanksgiving for 1, 2, 4, or 6 people.  This year you have to wash your own dishes, but it won’t compare to cooking for 100 like we have done at AIAFVG since 2014!  We’ll miss Erynn’s gravy, Leo’s pumpkin pie and the 5+1 Music. 

Not a fan of turkey? Make a Pumpkin Pie  or an apple pie and remember the good times that we had together.

Try some traditional American Square Dancing with the Turkey in the Straw . Channel your 2^nd grader self. Grab your partner and Do Si Do!

Private Courier Service for US Ballots

Election Day is almost here!

The US Embassies and Consulates will continue to accept ballots and postmark them right up to Election Day on November 3rd.
The last departure of ballots from American Corner Trieste destined to the US Consulate Milan Diplomatic Pouch was on October 26th at 12.

If you're running late, private courier service may be the only way to ensure that your ballot arrives on time. Please note that with a private courier, ballots are not postmarked and must arrive in the local voting office by Nov 3rd.

These Courier services in Italy are offering special rates for American Citizens who need to return their ballots.

DHL has offered Americans in Italy a special deal of only €36  to express return your ballot. You must drop it off at any of their 3600 points of service in Italy, and it must be prepared and ready to go. It cannot be addressed to a P.O. Box--you must use the address of your local election office--and you must show an ID confirming that you are American (a passport will do). The Promo Code for this is USA2020. The recommended deadline is October 28.

FEDEX is offering a special rate of €25, and some additional (small) surcharges may apply. To use this offer, you must create an account via THIS LINK. You will have to enter your credit card information and your Codice Fiscale, and your credit card will be billed immediately. As above, it cannot be addressed to a P.O. Box, and moreover, your request must be made entirely online via this link.  If you call Customer Service, go to a Fedex store, you will not receive this discount.

Trieste, October 28, 2020   We are again facing a challenging time that hopefully will soon pass.    Here is an update on the situation of the Associazione Italo Americana FVG / American Corner Trieste.   American Film Series for Members In light of the latest Mandate DPCM 24/10/2020, JUDY, the 1st film in the the 40th Annual American Film Series of the Associazione Italo Americana FVG scheduled for October 29, 2020 at Teatro dei Fabbri, has been POSTPONED.  Theaters and Cinemas are closed until at least November 24, 2020.  We hope to reschedule the Film Series and are evaluating the situation.    English Classes for Members Regarding our English Classes, Italian government institutions have confirmed that we can continue with our English Classes IN PERSON.  We had already implemented all the required Covid-19 rules and procedures.  If necessary, we are ready to go LIVE ONLINE with all of our classes at ALL LEVELS.    American Corner Activities American Corner In Person activities are temporarily suspended and Virtual Activities will continue on Facebook Live, Zoom and YouTube.   Check the Blog, Facebook AIAFVG, Facebook AmCorner and Instagram for updates.   Fall Break We will be CLOSED for FALL BREAK from 31/10 until 6/11.   Back Open on Saturday, November 7th.    Relax and enjoy some outdoor time, mild weather and beautiful fall colors!   Associazione Italo Americana FVG
