More online ties to the US. Emma is our Virtual Library Intern studying for a Masters Degree in Library Science at the University of Texas, Austin. Emma is available to meet online with students and librarians to discuss her university and her studies. Women's Book Club went online with the U.S. author Andrea Lee to discuss her novel Red Island House.
February Theme: Black History Month Each February, the United States celebrates Black History Month. This annual observance recognizes the important achievements by African Americans in U.S. history. In1976 President Gerald Ford officially recognized Black History Month calling upon the public to “seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history.”
