Sunday, July 2, 6-10 pm – An evening of family fun and a cookout! In collaboration with the MULI Trieste American Football Team the RANZIDE – Flag Football and ADS Sant’Andrea San Vito at the Campo Sportivo Starc, Via Locchi 38.  Free and Open to the Public. Football, Flag Football with the Muli and the Ranzide, Games, Food, Fun!  Uncle Sam and the Statue of Liberty too! Plenty of Parking!

AIA FVG ENGLISH COURSES

SUMMER STEAM Full Immersion English Mornings for Pre-K, Elementary, Middle and High School continue. Registration is Open. Here is the link to the Summer STEAM Schedule.   You can register your child online at this LINK.  4 Weeks – 2 weeks at the beginning of the Summer and 2 weeks before school starts.  You can take just 1 week or as many weeks as you like.  Great for Native Speakers too! Payment and registration according to the deadlines. 

WEEKEND WARRIOR Full Immersion English for Adults. 
July 8/9.  1 weekend, 10 hours of Full Immersion, Infinite Fun.

HIGH DIVE Full Immersion English Week for Adults. 
July 17-21 and/or July 28-Aug 1-   5 mornings – 20 hours of Full Immersion. OBJ: Fluency.

INDIVIDUAL LESSONS are also possible during the summer.  Yes you can!

Summer just started, but you can start to think about Fall.  English Classes for All Ages and All Levels.
Pre-Registration Links are available online. ATTN: We cannot accept payments for Fall Classes or 2017/18 Memberships until September 1st when the 2017/18 Membership Year begins.  If you are new, we will offer a mini trial lesson before our regular lessons begin.  You can register your child or yourself for a FREE TRIAL LESSON at the beginning of September before the courses start.  Trial lessons ARE NOT offered during our regular courses.

The friendly but forgetful blue tang fish, Dory, begins a search for her long-lost parents, and everyone learns a few things about the real meaning of family along the way.

New York, 1929. Nick Carraway, in a sanitarium for depression and alcoholism, is persuaded by his doctor to write a therapeutic account of what put him there. Nick's journal describes how, seven years earlier, he had moved to a tiny house on Long Island adjoining the sumptuous mansion owned by enigmatic neighbor, the fabulously wealthy Jay Gatsby.

Oscar Winner: Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress, Best Screenplay Adaptation of the slave narrative memoir Twelve Years a Slave by Solomon Northup (1853). Starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Kenneth Williams, Michael Fassbender. Screenplay by John Ridley.
Based on an incredible true story of one man's fight for survival and freedom. In the pre-Civil War United States, Solomon Northup, a free black man from upstate New York, is abducted and sold into slavery. Facing cruelty personified by a malevolent slave owner, as well as unexpected kindnesses, Solomon struggles not only to stay alive, but to retain his dignity.

It is 1667 in the Massachusetts Bay Colony, and an uneasy truce exists between local Puritans and their neighbors, the tribe of the Algonquians. Chief Metacomet succeeds his father Massasoit as head of the latter just as a new colonist, Hester Prynne, arrives overseas from England. As Hester waits for her husband, who is due to follow shortly after, she falls for a young minister, Arthur Dimmesdale.

The last members of a dying Native American tribe, the Mohicans, live in peace alongside British colonists. We had a great 5 weeks with Futurosa, Mini Basket in English. Looking ahead to Summer Basketball Camp:  1 week –June 12-19 for Kids 2004/5/6/7.  Tell them that you are an AIA FVG Member.

SPECIAL EVENTS:

GLOW – was a fantastic and intense 24 hours for all participants and mentors!  Thanks to everyone for making it such a great success.  An extra special thanks to Erin for putting it all together.  Looking forward to next year.  Here is the LINK with the photo highlights.

VOLUNTEERS
We are a Volunteer Run Non-Profit Association.
Volunteers run our Library, American Corner Programs and Activities.  We are looking for Volunteers to Mentor and Manage the Teen Club, Assist with the Nati per Leggere program, Work at the Cinema, Help with our Morning Activities.  Send us an email.  We’ll find a role for you.  University of Trieste students in Humanities or P.R. can earn Internship Credit Hours with us (CFU).   We accept students with a minimum of 75 hours (3 CFU).  You'll have a great experience and improve your English, while you learn valuable people skills. Contact us!  aia.fvg@gmail.com 

AMERICAN CORNER TRIESTE – Programs, consultation of the library, public internet access computers, and Wi-Fi are always free and open to the public.  A great place to study, meet friends, bring your kids.  The US Department of State has granted us a Gold Standard rating in terms of programs, facilities, services! In addition to our regular library, we also feature an Education Advising Section, Children’s Corner Library and Women’s Space.  
The American Corner also offers English and Life Skills Courses for Refugees thanks to a U.S. Government Grant.
