Another week of events dedicated to Trieste USA.







Tuesday, May 22nd, 9:45 a.m. - Trieste USA 1945-1954 - A Walking Tour in ITALIAN.  Discover all of the downtown hangouts of the Allied Military Government.  The tour lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes.  An introduction in Via Roma 15 and then hit the pavement!  A contribution is requested:  Euro 10 non-members, Euro 8 members.

Friday, May 25th, 6 p.m.  Blue Jeans and Short Skirts- American Trieste After the War 1945-1954 - Documentary written and directed by Renzo Carbonera.  Mr. Carbonera will be present at the showing.  The film can be viewed in either English or  Italian.

A causa grande richiesta, faremo un'altra visita guidata in ITALIANO - giovedì 31 maggio ore 9:45 - Ritrovo in Via Roma 15 presso l'Associazione Italo Americana. Conosci la vita quotidiana sotto il Governo Militare Alleato - sia per gli americani sia per gli italiani. La visita dura circa 2 ore 30 minuti. E richiesta un contributo: Euro 10 per non-soci e Euro 8 per soci.


We also have a Photo Gallery and some TRUST Memorabilia that you can visit during office hours:  Monday to Friday 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday 10 -12.  Many thanks to the Associazione Culturale Marino Simic for lending us some of the items from their precious collection.

Trieste USA 1945-1954 continues

On May 11, 2012 we had the pleasure of showing "Le Ragazze di Trieste" by Chiara Barbo and Andrea Magnani.  What fantastic and strong ladies, with a bit  of homesickness in their hearts still today.
Thanks to Chiara and Andrea for sharing their documentary with us and to all of you who participated!

Saturday, May 12th, there was another Trieste USA Walking Tour in English with our fabulous guide Edi Caropresi.

The month of May dedicated to Trieste USA: 1945- 1954 is far from over!  We've still got a REALLY BIG SHOW coming up!

Enjoy some vintage Tyrone Power - 1952 - in Trieste - in a spy story filmed here and starring Tyrone Power and Patricia Neal.  In minor but interesting roles the young actors: Karl Malden, Charles Bronson and Lee Marvin.  Have we got a show for you!  Who would have ever thought!

Join us at the Associazione Italo Americana FVG / American Corner Trieste - Via Roma 15 - Trieste
on Friday, May 11th at 6 p.m. for the showing of "LE RAGAZZE DI TRIESTE"   (Italian/English) with the presence of the directors: Chiara Barbo and Andrea Magnani.

Trieste USA 1945 - 1954 Walking Tours in English are scheduled on May 12th and May 26th.  Meeting at 9:45 a.m. at the Associazione Italo Americana FVG - Via Roma 15 - Trieste.  The tour and presentation last 2 1/2 hours.  A contribution of €8 for members and €10 for non-members is requested).

Visit our photo exhibit in the Aula Magna in Via Roma 15 during office hours: Monday - Friday 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday mornings 10 -12.

American Cooking School - LA California Fusion

American Cooking School is back with LA California Fusion.

There are still some openings for our course to be held on May 9th or May 10th at 6:30 p.m.

NB. THE COURSE IS POSTPONED UNTIL MAY 17.

Members only, cost:  Euro 40 per person.  Not a member yet?  No problem, become a member now and your membership will be valid for the 2012/13 year.  (€25 for students, teachers, retirees and €35 for regular adult membership).

Grazie alla grande richiesta ed interesse, abbiamo aggiunto una visita guidata in ITALIANO sabato 5/5/2012.  
Ritrovo: sede dell'Associazione Italo Americana / American Corner Trieste - Via Roma 15 alle ore 9:45.

Prima una breve presentazione, poi la visita a piede nel centro.  Durata della visita 2 ore circa.
Conosci i punti di riferimento della TRUST (TRieste US Troops) si parlerà della vita sia dei Triestini sia dei soldati a Trieste in quelli nove anni.

E' richiesta una donazione (Euro 8 - Soci, Euro 10 non-Soci)
I tours in Inglese proseguano il 12/5 e il 26/5.
