Thursday is Adult Coffee Break Time. If you are a baker... warm up your oven! It is also Cookie Exchange Day.

Adult Coffee Break is our monthly appointment to catch up on some clever English conversation. Coffee Break is always OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. If would like a cup of coffee, it costs just €0.50.
Cookie Exchange is an American tradition. You bake 6 dozen cookies and individually wrap them 1 dozen per package. You go home with a mixture of 6 dozen cookies made by our other bakers. This is a fun way to get a variety of cookies without all the work of baking 6 dozen different types.

Leonardo Buonomo, Professor of American Studies, and American TV / Movie lover will give us some American Pop Culture to the max. His Comparative TV / Movie discussion follows the film. Last week we projected Glee.

Bring your membership card. Not a member yet? No problem... become a member either in the Association (Monday to Friday 4-8 and Tuesday and Thursday mornings 10-12) or at the Cappella Underground before the show.

Membership is Euro 25 for Students, Teachers, Over 65 and Euro 35 for all the rest of us. Members also can attend the American Cinema Series at the Ariston, use our library, participate in our activities. What a great deal! What a great (and inexpensive) gift for your children, grandchildren, friends, spouse, mom.

Yesterday, December 5, 2011, we had a very special guest in our office.

Kyle Scott, US Consul General of the Milan Consulate, paid us a special visit to see our Library and meet our Volunteers and some of our Board Members. Mr. Scott was accompanied by Robert Palladino, Public Affairs Officer of the Milan Consulate and Simonetta Romagnolo.

The Consul General also welcomed the public at our Made for Each Other Series at the Cappella Underground.

The cookies that you all brought were fantastic. Next year we'll enroll more of you for demonstrations!


Now that you have lots of new recipes, Ladies and gentleman....Warm up your ovens! The next Christmas event is our Cookie Exchange on Thursday, December 15th from 10-noon during our Adult Coffee Hour. Bring 6 dozen homemade cookies or candies (wrapped 1 dozen per package) and take home a mixture of 6 dozen cookies made by our other bakers! This traditional American exchange gives you the chance to have a nice variety of holiday cookies without having to make them all yourself.

Made for Each Other (fatto uno per l'altra) starts on Monday, December 5th, 8:30 p.m. at the Cappella Underground (now located at the Teatro Miela in Piazza Duca degli Abruzzi - Trieste) .

American Pop Culture to the max! Join us as Leonardo Buonomo, American Studies Professor and the President of AIA FVG, pairs American TV shows and Classic films on the same theme (in original version). Each show includes a comparative TV - film lecture as well! The first show of the series is the TV show GLEE. Follow the fun and drama of a high school glee club. The companion film the following week (December 12th) is FAME - the classic film from the 1980's.


FOR THIS FILM ONLY, YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A MEMBER. Try it, You'll like it!

Your membership card is valid also for this series. Not a member yet? You can still become one! Come to our office Monday to Friday 4-8 p.m. or Tuesday and Thursday morning 10-noon. In addition, you can purchase your membership card at theater before showtime. Membership is: €25 for students, teachers and + 65 or €35 for regular memberships. Membership entitles you to attend our American Film Series at the Ariston, Made for Each Other at the Cappella Underground, use of our library (10,000 books, 1,000 DVD's, American Magazines) and our newsletter listing all of our monthly activities.
