Independence Day BAKED GOODS for the lottery

Hey guys and girls. We know that there are some terrific bakers out there...
so we are asking you to please donate some genuine American baked goods to our lottery on July 3rd.
Come on it's a good cause and you'll make an extra batch for your family!

Independence Day Cookout and Baseball Game - July 3, 2011



Summertime for AIA-FVG / American Corner means:

Baseball, Hamburgers, Watermelon and...Independence Day!

Join us for a family afternoon of celebration.

WHAT: Independence Day Party organized by the Associazione Italo Americana FVG /American Corner Trieste / Club Alpina Baseball

WHEN: July 3, 2011 from 3:30 p.m. until we run out of food and energy

WHERE: Opicina Soldiers Field on Strada Statale 202 between Opicina and Prosecco.


Schedule of Activities:

Baseball game of the Jr. Alpina Team at beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Baseball clinic following the game

Potato Sack Races for kids

Water balloon toss

Lottery - con Grandi Premi (as they say in Trieste)

Cookout - hamburgers, cheeseburgers, drinks, etc.

Call the associazione to make a reservation and plan for food! or just show up! All are welcome!

Remember to wear your favorite baseball shirt, bring your baseball glove and any baseball equipment you might have to help you catch those fly balls! (Bring some cash too ...for our wonderful burgers and to support the association).












Italian for Foreigners -Advanced /Intermediate

So...you've been living in Italy for a few years. You can speak pretty well, but grammar has always been a mystery. Here is the course for you.
Advanced/Intermediate Italian - 5 weeks -June 6th - July4th from 10-12. (Euro 125 + membership valid for 2011/2012)
Join our class taught by Simonetta. All you ever wanted to learn about passato remoto, but were afraid to ask.. just kidding, that would be to cruel for summer!

If you are a beginner, we have started a new beginners class - 5 lessons. Class meets on June 8, 10, 15, 22, 24 from 10-12. (Euro 125 + membership).

The American Corner - Paolo Bearz Library is putting together a Wish List of books, magazines, DVD's and other items that we could add to our collection in the Fall.

July 3rd - PARTY!!! Save the date

FOURTH OF JULY PARTY (to be held on Sunday, July 3rd)

Save the date! We are planning a fun all-American party for the whole family.

Details will follow.

Adult Coffee Hour


Thursday, June 9th from 10-12, we will hold our last coffee hour of this season.


Join us for a cup of espresso, share your fantastic summer plans... then you can update everybody in October!



OPEN to the PUBLIC - Bring a friend who wants to practice or improve their English.

Intensive English - for High School

You can still register for our Intensive 5 week English Class for High School students.
Start date is June 13th (we moved it back one week to give you a couple of days to recover from the last day of school).
End Date: July 13th
When: Mondays and Wednesdays from 18:30 until 20:30.
Cost: €250 + membership (valid for 2011/2012 year)

Just do it! Amaze your professors and your parents with your excellent grades in English in September!

We will hold a brief presentation on Monday June 6th at 18:30. Otherwise just come by the office and sign up.

By the way... Adults, you can still register for our Intensive Intermediate/Advanced class that starts on June 7th!
