GLOW - Mini Workshop - Saturday, May 25th - 4:30-7

What a great workshop!
Here are some photos!

We have decided to postpone our GLOW 24 hour Weekend until September to give more girls a chance to attend and also to launch the 2019-2020 year!

We still wanted to offer another spectacular mini-workshop this weekend, however as our May event!

American, Lydia Witt, is the founder and organizer of The Sewing Cooperative in Rome, an organization that creates economic opportunities for refugee tailors in Rome, through custom, made to measure, hand made products. This experience directly supports the tailors, and seeks to brings their skills to the broader community. Originally from Ohio, worked for ten years as a dressmaker for the NYC Ballet, Broadway, and NYU's Tisch School for the Arts. She recently relocated to Rome as a Fulbright Scholar to collaborate alongside and research the work integration of refugees in creative fields.
We invite all teens girls in Trieste to come meet Lydia and learn how to design and sew their own unique headband!

The workshop will be on Saturday May 25th from 16:30 -19:00.

Come take a study break and have some GLOW fun!

Have a good evening and see you soon!

“How Place Speaks To Us and Through Us"
Guest Speaker: Dr. Gabriella Miotto (Physician in the US, Poet)

“When we travel to new places, whether physically across lands, or across the landscape of the body through illness or grief, we often require a new language. In this interactive workshop, we will explore how the language of poetry can serve as a tool for the journeys we take.
--Dr Miotto will share examples of this use of language from her clinical practice at the intersection of family medicine and the Medicine Wheel.

Participants should bring a small object/photo that has caught their attention in Trieste in the days leading up to the workshop, to be used in a poetry writing exercise.
